Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP) is an evidence-based, corrective approach to spinal care. Instead of chasing short-term symptom relief, it works to improve the spine’s alignment, posture and biomechanics — addressing the structure underneath the pain. It’s the foundation of how we assess, treat and rehabilitate every patient at our clinic in Muscat.

CBP was developed by Dr. Donald D. Harrison in 1980 and is built on principles of physics, biomechanics and structural alignment. Its aim is to correct the abnormal spinal curves and postural imbalances that can contribute to pain, reduced mobility and altered nervous-system function — measuring your spine against a scientifically defined model of normal, rather than relying on a generalised, symptom-based approach.
Dr. Richard Marchetti, a Parker University graduate and Advanced Certified Chiropractic BioPhysics® practitioner, introduced this measurement-led method to Muscat and the wider region. Every plan begins with reading your spine accurately and only recommending what the measurements support.
Care begins with detailed postural and spinal assessment — posture analysis, range of motion, and imaging where clinically appropriate — to find exactly where your alignment deviates from ideal.
Where traditional care often aims for temporary relief, CBP is centred on improving spinal curves and posture over time — which may reduce recurring stress on joints, discs, muscles and nerves.
CBP is grounded in a large and growing body of peer-reviewed research. Treatment protocols are guided by clinical findings and the scientific literature, helping make progress predictable and measurable.
Once your spine is measured, correction works in the opposite direction to the problem. If a curve leans one way, the body is carefully positioned and worked toward the mirror image of that position — gently retraining the spine and surrounding tissues back toward their natural shape. Progress is re-measured at set points, so change can be shown, not just felt.

Depending on your individual needs, a plan typically combines:

Precise, Mirror Image® adjustments that work against the spine’s deviation to encourage realignment.

CBP-specific traction applies sustained forces that may help remodel spinal curves over time, when clinically indicated.

Targeted exercises and posture-focused rehabilitation reinforce the structural changes and support long-term correction.
Feeling better and being structurally better are not the same thing. CBP is built to pursue both — and to prove it with measurement.

Most care chases the symptom. CBP measures the structure underneath it — then corrects it.
